Tiny Tiger Taekwon-Do: Building Confidence, Coordination, and Fun!

Mon/Tue/Wed/Th 5:00 PM to 5:30 PM Tuesday/Thursday 6:00 to 6:45 PM (Ages 5-7)

Our Tiny Tiger Taekwon-Do classes provide a fun and interactive introduction to martial arts, helping young students develop essential life skills like coordination, self-control, responsibility, and healthy play habits. At this early stage, our focus is on fostering healthy development rather than on belt rank. As students reach key milestones, we celebrate their progress by adding achievement stripes to their white belts, keeping them motivated and engaged.

To further boost self-esteem, we’ve designed two age-specific belts in our program, specially created to acknowledge each child’s growth and effort.

Join us and discover how much fun your child can have while learning valuable life skills in a positive, supportive environment!

As students enter the pre-teen years, their growing focus and physical coordination mark an important shift in their martial arts journey. In this stage, training evolves from playful activities to structured, repetitive skill practice, with a strong emphasis on cognitive development.

At this level, students are expected to embrace and embody the core values of martial arts: courtesy, integrity, self-control, perseverance, and indomitable spirit. Martial arts becomes more than just physical practice—it is a powerful tool for teaching positive values and ethical conduct.

Students now progress through the formal rank structure of their martial art. While time spent in grade plays a minor role in promotion, advancement is based on consistent hard work, dedication, and the mastery of key skills. No student is promoted without first being invited to and successfully completing a skill-level examination, ensuring that each achievement is earned.

“Anything worth doing is worth doing well.” This is the guiding motto of our teen and adult classes. While our classes are designed to be fun and engaging, we maintain a strong focus on the fact that true achievement comes through dedication and hard work.

Our teen and adult classes are the most diverse in our program, offering a wide variety of techniques while allowing each student to tailor their experience based on their fitness level and personal goals. Rooted in traditional martial arts philosophy, our classes incorporate a modern approach, blending time-honored practices with innovative teaching methods.

Our experienced instructors use a variety of tools—ranging from physical skill development to scientific technique analysis—to connect with students and help them reach their full potential. Whether your goal is to learn a traditional martial art, master self-defense, discover a fun new hobby, or improve your health, our classes provide the ideal environment for growth.

Teens and adults on the FAMILY PLAN have the unique opportunity to participate in combined Family Classes alongside their children or younger siblings on designated days and times. While these family sessions offer a great chance to train together, Family Plan members are also welcome to attend age-specific classes if they prefer. It’s all about flexibility and enjoying martial arts as a family!

The Legacy of TaeKwon-Do

TaeKwon-Do, a Korean martial art, began to take shape in Seoul after WWII, blending traditional Korean techniques with Chinese and Japanese influences. In 1957, General Choi Hong Hi, the father of TaeKwon-Do, officially named it “TaeKwon-Do,” meaning “the way of the foot and fist.” The art was formalized under the Korean TaeKwon-Do Association, later evolving into the International TaeKwon-Do Federation (ITF) in 1966. A split in 1973 led to the formation of the World Taekwondo Federation (WT).

What distinguishes TaeKwon-Do is its strong ethical code, including tenets and a student oath, emphasizing respect, discipline, and integrity. Today, it is the most widely practiced martial art worldwide.
