As the weather cools down and the sniffles start to sneak in, it’s that time of year again—cold and flu season! But don’t worry—at Omaha Blue Waves Martial Arts, we’re all about staying strong, staying healthy, and looking out for one another. 💪🌬️
Here’s how you can help keep yourself (and your training partners!) in fighting shape this season—without breaking a sweat.
🧼 Cleanliness is Part of the Discipline
Just like we respect the dojang, we respect the space we train in and the people we train with. A few simple habits go a long way:
Wash your hands before and after class.
Use hand sanitizer—it’s your invisible sparring partner!
Wipe down shared gear and weapons after use.
Bring your own water bottle (and don’t share it!).
🤧 Feeling a Little Off? It’s Okay to Take a Breather
One of the best things you can do for your health and the team is to rest when you’re feeling under the weather. Whether it’s a cough, fever, or just not feeling 100%, staying home helps you recover faster and keeps the dojang strong.
Remember: missing a class is okay—we’re in this for the long run! Your training will still be here when you’re back to 100%.
💦 Hydrate, Fuel Up, Rest Up
Martial artists are warriors—but even warriors need rest, good food, and hydration.
Drink plenty of water—especially after training!
Get enough sleep—your body repairs itself while you rest.
Eat well—fruits, veggies, and healthy meals fuel powerful kicks and clear minds.
💙 Let’s Look Out for Each Other
At Omaha Blue Waves, we’re more than a martial arts school—we’re a community. Looking out for each other is part of who we are. Here’s how we can all help:
Encourage each other to stay healthy.
Remind younger students to wash their hands or cover a cough.
Share smiles, not germs!
👊 Strong Body, Strong Mind, Strong Community
Cold and flu season doesn’t stand a chance when we bring the same energy to our health as we do to our training. Thank you for doing your part to keep Omaha Blue Waves a safe, positive, and healthy space for everyone.
Now let’s kick this season into high gear—safely, powerfully, and together. 💥
